PLATO’S MYTH OF THE CAVE
1. Choose a setting/reality that is similar to this story.
Malfunctioning family which can’t grasp the happiness have the similarity to the Plato’s myth of the cave.
2. These objects symbolizes:
i) The prisoners
The children in the family due they are the production of their parents.
ii) The chains
Noble relationship as the children knows well about their parents. The child comes from the parents who invented them to this world.
iii) The fire
Father and mother who have make a troublesome when they can’t bear anymore with their spouse which means they have anyone else as their special person.
iv) The shadow and the images
The parents always fighting until cannot give full attention to their children and sometimes only concerning about their new spouse. Plus, parents respectively blame one another when children have done the mistake.
v) The puppet players
Children are victims of the illegitimate relationship between the parents and the new spouse.
vi) The old man
The parents come out with the solution to divorce and lawyer as the savior when they legally have spread.
3. Based on the setting/reality, the prisoner hurt these eyes when he was first liberated because…
Every child is expectant that granted a peaceful family as everyone else does. Children also can’t see anything wrong within their parents as perform well in their roles and responsibilities. Unfortunately, when the newcomers come everything changes mechanically and the parents are pretending to make the children believe nothing happen between their relationships.
4. In the context which have selected, the prisoners still insist that the images which he has seen before are much more real than the statues because…
They do believe themselves due to their alienation and isolation can bring a lot of troublesome from their parents even though the parents have remorse the mistaken that have done.
